The Highlights

Selena Scola is a founder, executive advisor, technology-ethics advocate, and SAG-AFTRA actor. In 2004, Scola founded the commercial enterprise Lexi Love®, successfully winning her first intellectual property case connected to the brand in 2009. She expanded her executive portfolio in 2010 by launching the strategic tech consultancy By Imagination and founding Vegan Kitchen TV, which was awarded the "Best Environmental Food Sourcing & Biodiversity News Platform" by Global Health & Pharma Magazine in 2019.

A relentless force for corporate accountability, Scola sued Facebook in 2018 over unsafe working conditions for content moderators. The historic litigation resulted in a landmark $52 million settlement in 2020, securing workplace protections for 14,000 workers across four U.S. states. In recognition of this victory, the Impact Fund honored her with a Social Justice Activist award in 2023. After returning to academia in 2022, Scola graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 2024 with a major in Climate Science and minors in Social Difference, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Global and Regional Studies. Scola defends her own intellectual property with that same tenacity. Starting in 2024, Scola is actively litigating against media conglomerates like Paramount to combat corporate appropriation and commercial dilution after Paramount, WOW, and Cody Barnes used the Lexi Love® trademark in every episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17. As of July 2026, it looks like Scola is winning this case.

Research and Intellectual Interests: Scola’s research centers on cyborg theory, robotics, ethics, and socio-technical systems theory. Her broader work and personal interests span climate science, urban sustainability, AgTech, HealthTech, structural equity, mental health systems, public well-being, biodiversity, avian ecology, and natural systems.
